After Egyptian author Ahmed disappears for his words, his wife Kathy is left behind in a country where questions are dangerous. The film presents the psychological reality experienced by many refugees living in Europe. Taha is an Egyptian refugee in the Netherlands who has endured traumatic experiences in his home country. After a long period of isolation, he slowly begins to rebuild his life. With the support of his therapist, Johan, he starts to explore life in the Netherlands and reconnect with other Egyptians. As he searches for answers to the complex questions he carries within him, he also searches for inner peace.
Throughout his journey in the Netherlands, Taha reunites with old friends such as Adam, Reda, Yusuf, and Mohamed; people he first met on the road to Europe. Reconnecting with those who shared parts of his past allows him to discover more about himself, his experiences, and the meaning of life.
