After Egyptian author Ahmed disappears for his words, his wife Kathy is left behind in a country where questions are dangerous. Refusing to stay silent, she searches for her husband,only to discover how absence itself becomes a weapon, putting a spotlight on the reality of forced disappearance in Egypt.

Department 215 is a poignant story about Essam, a Syrian refugee in the Netherlands who has lost everything. Consumed by the search for his old friend Maher, he meets Yassien, who becomes his unlikely ally. Together, they navigate hope, despair, and the pursuit of closure, Essam’s last chance to reclaim a piece of his past.
Our new film Department 215 was released on 25 October 2025 and screened at the Amalyashi Festival in Leiden. Department 215 was officially selected for the Paradise Film Festival, the Rome Prisma Film Awards, and the Eastern Europe Film Festival.
Abdullah Jabahji was nominated for Best Actor, and the film won several awards: Best Director (Tommy Sherif), Best Film Poster (Louisa van der Meij), and Best Supporting Actress (Yara Joujak).

The film is presenting a piece of the psychological state of a lot of refugees in Europe. Taha is An Egyptian refugee in the Netherlands who has lived hard traumatic events in Egypt, after a period of isolation he starts to get back in his life. Using the help of his Therapist Johan, he starts to explore life in the Netherlands and also meet up with Egyptians. he is trying to find answers of complicated questions he carry, trying to find his inner piece.
In his journey in the Netherlands he meets with old friends, like Adam, Reda, Yusuf and Mohamed. people he met already on the way to the Netherlands. Getting back to friends he met in Egypt in the new ground makes him discover more about himself and about life.
