Our Story:

The story behind 999 Geen Dienst Studio begins with the journey of its founder, Tommy Sherif, who arrived in the Netherlands in 2014 as a refugee in search of safety, a fresh start, and a place to call home.
Long before that journey, Tommy had already discovered his passion for storytelling. In 2008, he began studying theatre and filmmaking in Egypt, laying the foundation for what would later become his life's work.
In 2019, he founded 999 Geen Dienst Studio, an independent performing arts studio dedicated to creating theatre, film, storytelling, and community projects that bring people together through meaningful stories.
Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the studio continued to grow, producing performances, films, workshops, and storytelling projects. Today, the journey continues—with new productions, new collaborations, and new stories waiting to be told.

Art has no limits. Every story can be told in different ways, and every idea deserves the medium that brings it to life. Whether through theatre, film, storytelling, photography, music, or new creative forms, we continue to explore, experiment, and create.
These values remind us that art is not only something we produce. It is a way of building connections, encouraging dialogue, and bringing people together through stories that matter.
